​ We first met Kevin O’Kennedy early in 2006 when a friend, knowing that we were looking for someone to deal with problems caused by our large trees, recommended him to us. We were very pleased with the job that he and his crew did then, so much so that we have called on him regularly ever since , both for pruning and for removal of several trees. In February of this year, the crew took down a big maple (9’ in circumference at the base). This was a major job, since the tree was not only overhanging a busy road but had become entangled with telephone wires; afterwards neighbours commented on the neatness and skill with which the work was accomplished. At the same time, they carried out purely cosmetic surgery on a Himalayan birch whose natural shape had been marred by a tangle of horizontal branches (picture taken June 12).
In all our dealings with them, we have found Mr. O’Kennedy and his crews very professional. They come and go when they say they will, they clean up after themselves, and both the job and price have always been discussed and clearly understood beforehand—although, on one memorable occasion, we were offered a reduction because the job had taken less time than anticipated. They do not turn up with chain saws at the ready, but, while offering sound advice and expertise, have respected our trees and our views. We take it for granted that we’ll be calling them back again. ​
